The Gospel according to Matthew

Matthew_slide

I'm really excited to invite you to join us on Monday nights as we study through the entire Gospel of Matthew!

The Gospel of Matthew was written approximately 50AD - 100AD to a Jewish audience. Matthew quotes the Old Testament 62 times!
Matthew's Theme: To show that Jesus is the promised Messiah - the Savior!

Matthew, also known as Levi, was a tax collector whom Jesus called to follow Him. Luke records that Matthew "left all" and followed Jesus.

Matthew, although an outcast from the religious community, and from his cultural society was called by Jesus to be His disciple.

Jesus never would tell us to go clean our life up first as a prerequisite to following Him. Jesus calls, and all we need do is follow! Jesus does the work of washing away our sin, and a life that has been changed internally manifests itself externally!

Jesus calls us out of sin, and into his service!
