Anxiety

Do you find yourself worrying a lot? Do you feel anxious, and without complete peace? Anxieties can literally come out of nowhere. So, how does anxiety work in the life of the believer?

I had just woken from a good night’s rest, and immediately, out of the blue I felt extremely anxious. I thought to myself, “What the heck is going on here?” I wasn’t aware of anything to be anxious about. Immediately the Lord spoke to me, and revealed to me this was a spiritual attack, and that He was going to use this in my life to help me. I know immediately you may be thinking, “How in the world can anxiety help me as a Christian!

Interestingly enough it does.

For it was in that time of great anxiety that the Lord showed me that He was going to use this attack from Satan to help me to further trust in Him, and to rely less upon myself. I prayed, “Lord, if You’re allowing this anxiety in my life to show me that I need to trust in You more, then please help me to trust in You more.” Amazingly, the anxiety left at once!

The Lord has shown me yet again that I need to fully trust in Him, and not rely on my own abilities or become comfortable in my own efforts.

2Corinthians 3:5 “Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think of anything as being from ourselves, but our sufficiency is from God.”

Less of us - More of HIM!

Philippians 4:6-7 “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”

God Bless!

Thank’s Garid! This blessed me much!

  2. Brittney Says:

“Amazingly, the anxiety left at once!”

So what if it had not left at once? Does this mean that people aren’t trusting in God enough?

When saying stuff like this it leads people to think that if only they pray more, if only they have more faith, if only they could be a better Christian things like anxiety, stress, money problems, etc will just ‘disappear’ When in reality probably won’t.

Thanks for the honest blog. As a mom and business owner anxiety can come from many directions and be a plague in my day or usually night. I often feel aweful for not simply trusting in God but it is a spiritual attack and I know God will strengthen me moment by moment and take care of my days as he knows is best. Thanks for your word of wisdom and encouragement…

For Brittney: I can see where you’re going with your response. The end road to this type of prosperity reasoning would lead us to the place where “If we had enough faith we’d never get sick, never have stress, never be without money, etc.” We’d all be healthy and wealthy if we just have enough faith. This is absolutely FALSE. This blog isn’t speaking of having enough faith to not have problems, but rather the Lord INCREASING our faith to get through our problems!
Jesus even said that in this world we will have tribulation. This applies to those of great faith and those of little faith. Anxiety and stress is something that we deal with on a daily basis, yet as Christians we can have victory over it! So, the main point is not that my anxiety left at once (because that doesn’t always happen), but that the Lord used it to draw me closer to Him. - Pastor Garid

Gar-id, Right on, I fell from the Lord for over 25 years, I had everything!Money, Job, Family, But when I lost my job of 23 years Jesus fulfilled Phil 1:6. “Being confident of this very thing,That he who has begun a good work in you’ll complete it until the day of Jesus Christ.I’ve been out of work for over a year and it was the best thing God ever did for me the greatest gift i ever received!I have nothing, I’m starting all over again but this time completely in JESUS!Anxiety ravished me, But Jesus got me through it and it was like lifting weights you could see the results! Praise the Lord.Ron
